How to Purchase Altcoins/How to Own Any Cryptocurrencies

1. Open an account on an exchange (Coinbase Pro)

2. Download a wallet where you can hold the coin of your choice (Exodus Wallet, Atomic Wallet, Trust Wallet, Ledger Live)

3. Buy a currency that you will use for conversion. If you purchase on an exchange like Coinbase, sometimes you will not be able to send the currency for a few days (they want the money transfer from the bank to officially clear, blame the fiat currency system). If this is an issue, there are other options. CashApp allows you to purchase Bitcoin and instantly send it out (up to $2,000), but at the moment they only allow one transfer a day.

4. Once you’ve got your BTC and are allowed to withdraw it, use a conversion engine to convert the currency you own to the new currency of your choice. I prefer ChangeAngel.io, they update you with emails for every step of the transaction. If you’re not a fan of giving your email, you can also use changenow.io.

   • Go to your wallet, click on the currency you would like to receive, and copy your receiving address.

   • Go on the conversion engine, type in how much BTC you would like to convert. Provide the conversion engine with your receiving address, and they will provide you with an address that you send your BTC to.

   • Send the BTC to that address, and the conversion engine will do the rest. Once the transactions are confirmed and exchanged, you will receive the currency of your choice to your desired wallet.

Notes:

• Step 4 will be fully explained by ChangeAngel.io or any other conversion engine.

• If your funds are cleared on Coinbase, I prefer using coins like Stellar Lumens (XLM) for conversion, they are faster and have less fees than Bitcoin (BTC).

• Before you go through this process, go on the conversion engines, and make sure they have the coin(s) you are looking for. A lot of altcoins (alternative coins) cannot be bought on exchanges, but are available on these conversion engines.
